How To Treat Abdominal Bloating And Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat?

I constantly feel bloated in my abdominal area. My stomach sticks out and the only relief I get from it is if I do not eat anything and drink very little water. I also have a feeling of something stuck in the back (lower) part of my throat. It has been going on for a while. I was told it is probably silent reflux and to take Dexilant but it still happens. What should I do, do I need an EGD?

Hello,

Since you are having acid reflux and bloating you are suggested to avoid taking large meals, spicy-oily food, citrus food, cheese, food high in fat, do not skip meals, take food in time, stay well hydrated and avoid constipation. Take antacids and PPIs for relieve, take food that is easily digestible. Maintain healthy weight. Avoid lying down just after food. Keep yourself well hydrated. You are suggested to take veggies and fruits, berries and lean meat.

You can take egg whites and heathy fats. Minimize the amount of caffeine in your diet as it may trigger acid reflux. Since you have the sensation of something stuck in your throat, globus pharyngeus. Avoid stressful lifestyle, negative people, anxiety, etc., so that your symptoms are not triggered. Get clinically examined by a GP to detect any other pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
