I AM 44 YEARS OLD & HAVE AN UNDER ACTIVE THYROID. FOR THE LAST MOTNH & A HALF IVE BEEN HAVING THIS PERSISTING COUGH DURING THE DAY & ESPECIALLY AT NITE. WHAT CAN I USE TO GET RID OF THE COUGH.

as u have persistent cough ,u need to do ur body check up
better to consult doctor
u need to do x ray ,tb test ,blood test for infection
avoid dusty environment and cold weather
make habit of wearing mask

Thanks for query,
You might have allergic bronchitis or it may be viral remains for days together,take cough suppressant syrup.
If cough is associated with fever you go for blood test for lung infection and then go for antibiotic course.
Avoid fried,chillies and junk food,
Stop smoking.
