Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good Morning. I was up last night having what I think is an anxiety attack (I currently take Prozac, 40m). My only symptom was my racing heart. It woke me up and then I had nightmares and more racing heart....for hours. I have experienced this in the past and just want to be sure that it's not abnormal.
I just had a physical with an EKG (or EEG - not sure which one actually) and it was fine.
You had panic attack and in that case, you need either higher dose of prozac or another antidepressant like paroxetine. You can also try benzodiazepine on sos basis. That would help you to control such anxiety episode. You can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
