Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter apparently bruised her backbone while doing summersaults on a hard floor in gym. What can I do to relieve the pain, she acts like she can barely move and says it feels like a "when you have a cavity in your tooth and eat something sweet" when she moves or touches that spot on her back. Could it be more?
Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM. Trumatic back pain may result from simple muscle injury to injury of the spine. As in this case the injury is so bad, I think clinical examination alongwith imaging are urgently needed. For symptomatic relief application of ice pack, rest and analgesic ( paracetamol 10 mg/kg body weight sos, min 6 hr interval) will be necessary. Further management will be done after evaluation by your local doctor. My recommendation isto visit your local orthopaedic surgeon at the earliest. For any further questions please write back to us. Regards. Dr. Kaushik
