How To Treat Bilateral Colobama That Effects Iris And Retina?
hello, I have a bitlateral coloboma that affects the iris as well as the retena. Over the past few years I have developed a cataract in one eye and have been told that I am going to have to have surgery to have it removed. I am concerned because I was told that due to the size of the coloboma there is a chance that the implant edge may be in my field of vision and cause me problems. What other options are there out there?
Hello Coloboma is a congenital condition and there is no satisfactory treatment for this condition. Since you are having cataract in the eye you need to go for cataract surgery. You need to use iris contact lenses following surgery if you are having problem of photophobia or increased sensitivity to light following surgery because of exposure of the edge of the lens.
Thank you
