How To Treat Black Spots On Wrist And Towards Knuckles?
Hi, My daughter is 7 yrs old and in December she started to get some black spots on her hands by her wrist towards her knuckles. It looks like a burn but she did not burn herself. I thought it was frost bites and had her doctor checked and applied the cortisone cream. It faded away and now is coming back as I stopped using the cream. Please advise as I am concerned if she has to use this cream all the time. Thanks, Kavita
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history of black spots, my treatment advice is :
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30. 2. Apply a kojic acid cream like kojivit twice daily on it. 3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral multivitamins and topical steroid given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
