How To Treat Blisters That Have Developed Close To Perirectal Abscess?

My father had surgery for a perirectal abscess about a month ago. We are helping care for him at home (86 yrs old) the wound is healing nicely but he has developed a couple of blisters close to the wound site. Wondering if we have done something to cause this and what to do besides triple antibiotic to treat it.

Hi,

Bullous lesions near sugery site may be due to irritants like iodine or neomycine or other material used for healing the operative wound. This may be called irritant contact dermatitis. You avoid to apply such cream or dressing material. Give antibiotics, antihistaminics with steroid in tappering dose. Apply gentamycine or sisomycine cream. Give him Sitz bath in dettol water. Consult dermatologist to have firm diagnosis. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
