How To Treat Blood Clot On Thumb?

Hi, I ve had this small blood clot on my thumb for about a week and a bit now and at first the blood was red but then obviously over time it turned purple. Anyway, it s now open by a small space on the surface of it and some of the blood has come out. My question is what next? What do I do now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I understand your concern.
Kindly drain the remaining blood using a sterile guaze.
Apply betadine dressing over the area for three days or till the time the wound heals.
This should be sufficient
If the wound is painful painkillers like diclofenac can be taken.
Thanks for choosing HCM
