Within the last 9 months I have watched my 54 yr old husband go from a very active person to looking and walking like a 80 yr old man. He is very stiff, he walks really slow, and looks as though he is protecting his body from something. He was treated for Parkinson s but it was ruled out, the meds did not make a difference and he did not have shakes. Now his Orthopedic doc found he has a bulging disc on his spinal cord. It s pinched pretty bad like only 7 percent open. The problem is that he does not have the textbook symptons like tingling hands, dropping things, however he does have a problem controling his right arm while shaving and writing his name. They want to do surgery but we are not sure if this is going to help with the stiffness and the way he is walking. Please ..any advice is appreciated.
