General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing.
Swelling and pain is quiet common at injury site for ribs.
Ideally an xray to be done to rule out a fracture but as a week has passed and ur not suffering from breathlessness or sharp chest pain than therebare very less chance of developing of pneumothorax.
So u can keep ice application Along with diclofenac gel application.
If breathlessness occur than visit a doctor.
Thanks
