How To Treat Bumpy Rash Under The Arm?

My 6 year old son has a rash under his arm and it will not go away. It is bumpy/pimply looking and our family Dr says it s from not washing his fat flabs properly. He washes under his arms every day. He has to. He has been using a cream but it will not go away and today he said he felt a bump. I desperately need a second opinion.

Hi,

The increased perspiration with excess fat under arms, cause drying of the sweat there, skin irritation and the rash. In such a case repeated washing, drying, dusting with Neosporin powder, using thin, smooth and loose fitting cotton clothes becomes essential. Appearance of a lump suggests enlargement of a lymph gland in axilla. It is sign of secondary infection in the rash (fungal / bacterial). Apart from home care he may need oral antibiotic to be prescribed after physical examination. Please consult his doctor.
