How To Treat Burning And Itching Sensation In Throat Caused After Chemical Intake?
hi doc,I accidentally drank lizol which is a cleaning agent. I vommited a lot with no remains of lizol now. M fine now with no any symptoms exept itching and burning sensation in throat. What should i take to reduce or cure it? I had honey and it was helpful. Even tulsi leaves helped me.Regards,Sampada
As per your query you accidentally drank lizol . Well this is a phenol derivative which cause damage to mucosa . Such products are corrosive poison and do harm mucosa . This the reason for itching and burning sensation in your throat . I would suggest you to drink glass full of milk as it will prevent mucosa . Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for discomfort of throat . Do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times and consult ER without any delay because sometimes condition get complicated if any amount of such product remains in the body . Doctor may perform gastric lavage to remove even a small amount of lizol from your body . Doctor may also prescribe medicine like sucralfate to treat the damage cause to mucosa of throat and stomach.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
