Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Dr. John Meyer, I have had a chalazion for six months on my lower eyelid, which finally almost entirely disappeared, only to be replaced by a bigger one on the upper eyelid. It has now slightly open and I am concerned that it might get infected. Should I let it be or facilitate the drainage and then apply an antiseptic cream? Thank you!
Hi, a chalazion is a chronic cystic formation which resolves by itself within a few months. Do warm compresses and apply fusidic acid if needed to avoid an acute infection. I hope this answers your query :)
