How To Treat Chipping Of Bone After A Navicular Fracture In A Child?

My daughter has a navicular bone fracture, and the ortho said that part of her bone chipped off. They put her in a boot for 4 weeks. Will the bone fragment re-attach somehow? She is a gymnast and anxious to do some working out, but I don t know that she should do anything.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Non weight bearing cast is initial recommended treatment for 6 weeks. She should avoid running and other strenuous activities for the period of cast.
After cast removal she will be again asses for pain and tenderness if she was fine then she can start jogging gradually.
Hope it helps best.
Take your best care.
