Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My uncle is 64 years of age and was diagnosed a month ago with Stage 4 cholangio carcinoma. Is it normal for the doctors (oncologists and surgeons) to keep changing their minds on the type of treatment for this cancer. He was told at first port put in for chemo then surgery. Then was told surgery then chemo and radiation. Then was told by surgeon no surgery until after port and chemo. He is now being told he will start radiation and a chemo pill? We are all confused at this point.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, treatment of malignancy is depends upon the type of carcinoma and of course the clinical condition and general condition, if over all information creating some confusion then it become difficult to decide the line of treatment, and then best would be chemotherapy, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
