How To Treat Chronic Burning Pain In The Back?

I have had a burning pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades. I have had several steroid injections and operations to cut the nerves but nothing stops this pain. I was bulimic for 20 years. If it's not a back/nerve problem what could it be? Laying down or heat helps.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

I think it might be vertebral column arthritis. It is a disease that causes inflammation and pain.

To confirm the diagnosis X-ray, fibrinogen test, complete blood count and urine test are necessary.

You should use non steroidal anti inflammatory medications.

Consult your neurologist.

Wish you good health.
Dr. Behar.
