General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Initially NSAIDs like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen are prescribed.Antidepressants.

Tricyclic antidepressants such as nortriptyline can be used to treat chronic headaches. At times Anti-seizure medications are added to the treatment regime.

Beta blockers. which are used to treat high blood pressure are also a mainstay for preventing episodic migraines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH
