There are various causes of chronic lower back pain and groin after hip replacement surgery as: - Prosthesis related nerve compression - Vascularity compromise of hip joint as avascular necrosis or others - Nerve compression of lower spinal cord (which will present with sciatica radiating to back of thigh even up to calf as well) - Chronic spasms of ligament of hip around prosthesis - Worsening of osteoporosis, spondylytis or osteoarthritis condition - Calcium homeostasis disturbances - If history of steroid consumption, side effects of chronic use
Treatment depends upon the underlying cause and management accordingly. Review your latest lab data with a, x-ray and MRI plates if available for further reference here during follow up conversation.
