Hi Dear, Welcome to HCM. Understanding your concern. As per your query clogged ears causing difficulty in hearing is due to eustachian tube dysfunction. Eustachian tube is a small tube that connects middle ear to oral cavity and balance the pressure between the two . Eustachian tube dysfunction occurs due to mucous produced by infections like upper respiratory track infection , post nasal drip and sinusitis , Specially when these infection left untreated . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. You should maintain proper cleanliness. Avoid pricking inside ear with any sharp object. Your doctor will examine your ear canals and eardrums, and your nasal passages and the back of your throat. Doctor may recommend you few exercises like blowing air with closed nose and mouth ,swallowing, yawning or chewing gum . Doctor may also prescribe decongestant to reduce the swelling of the lining of the tubes , antihistamine and antibiotics. Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon.
