Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Clogged Ears Inspite Of Using Flonase Caused From Sinus Infection?
My eardrums are retracted from a sinus and chest cold. I am now over it, but still having trouble with the ears. I can feel them move when I move my head at certain angles and am able to hear, but as soon as I straighten up, they get sucked back in and o can't hear that well. Flonase always helps but it isn't this time, but it is usually caused from allergies and not a cold or sinus infection. What can o do without going to the doctor? It happens all the time.
As per your query you have clogged ears in spite of using Flonase caused from sinus infection . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the infection spread from upper respiratory track to ear through eustachian tube due to post nasal drip caused by sinusitis . This condition also known as eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) . This can also occur due to allergic reaction . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and take benadryl twice a day . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , CT scan and blood test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( penicillin or amoxicillin ) , decongestant and expectorant .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
