hello doctor i am having conical cornea suspected 2 years back my doctor at that stage asked me to wait for 6 months and return back and after done as instructed my doctor gave me hard lens i dont know its so hard to have that lens it just some times moves to corner of eye causing extreme pain. my doctor told me to wait till i was 20 to make sure that the cornea stopped expanding. as i am 20 now i would like to know wat are the treatments available and time it takes to correct my vision to 6\6, or should i go for any surgery toget 6\6 vision?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having keratoconus commonly called as conical cornea because of conical protrusion of the cornea. The treatment of the condition in the initial stages is by use of glasses or by contact lens to improve the vision and by corneal collagen cross linking to prevent the progression of the disease. In later stages the treatment is by INTACS or by keratoplasty.
Thank you
