Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in query is clearly pointing towards a condition known as
acid reflux disease or gastrointestinal acid reflux disease (GERD) .
In this condition the upper sphincter of
esophagus allow the acidic content of stomach to come back in to esophagus up to throat . This make throat rashes (itchiness) and dry cough .
The treatment of this disease based upon simple lifestyle changes along with medicine .
I would suggest you to avoid spicy food and heavy meals , avoid smoking and drinking, take frequent and light meals and eat at least 1-2 hour before going to bed . Also take light walk for 15 minutes after every meal.
Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray of upper digestive system , endoscopy and ambulatory acid test to confirm the diagnosis .
Doctor may prescribe antacid like gelusil to neutralize acid content , H2 blocker to reuce acid production like
ranitidine,
proton pump inhibitor to block acid production( omepraozole ) and baclofen to reduce the frequency of sphincter reflux.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
