Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Constant Cough And Tightness In Lungs?
I have an appt. tomorrow for my lungs. I have for the last couple months having a cough. My lungs fill tight. Mostly dry cough. Like a smokers cough. Really feel symptoms in air conditioning . Or wind going into my lungs other than when I naturally breath. I am more tired that usual. Feel it more on my right side.
Can you mention your age, and any past history of diseases like asthma? Any history of allergy or asthma in family?
You have a dry cough that persisted for few months, with a feeling of chest tightness that is more in cold environment, like an air conditioned room. This may indicate an allergic condition like asthma. A chronic infection like tuberculosis also possible, but usually have other symptoms like low grade persistent fever, weight loss or anorexia.
We can come to a diagnosis after physical examination, X-ray and blood tests. Your doctor will guide you.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
