How To Treat Constant Fever And Chill?

I believe I just contracted URI from my daughter, she was diagnosed by her doctor. I have a soar throat and low grade fever up to about100.5 but usually around 99 with pretty bad chills. I have broken the fever a couple of times but it keeps coming back. How do I keep the fever and chills from coming back? Do I just wait it out?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is definitely possible that you have caught your daughter's infection.

Since the fever keeps recurring you may want to consider the use of paracetamol or ibuprofen consistently for the first 24 to 48 hours. Paracetamol can be used 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours or you can use ibuprofen 400mg every 8 hours.

In addition the use of cool liquids and clothing , as well as tepid sponging, would be helpful.

I hope this helps
