Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been constipated the last 3 days, I have had bowel movements but I have noticed at first a small amount of blood but today was more painful and more blood. I am 23 and just thought I should check if it serious or not and what should I eat to relieve the constipation.
Hello, I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Short answer: Nothing to worry
Detailed answer: Thank you for asking.
During constipation it is common to see blood in stools. As you need to apply pressure while passing stools injury to intestinal mucosa is normal. It will get repaired itself. Nothing to worry about blood.
To reduce constipation drink plenty of water, eat fruits, leafy vegetables, banana. Exercise regularly.
Hope this helps
If you have any other query I'll be happy to help.
Regards, Dr.Prathap Kumar
