My Dad has just come out of the hospital on thursday he was having problems with his stomach which the hospital have suggested could be to do with constipation.They provided him with medication called movical and he has been taking this but this has caused him to have several blackouts today and after reading the leaflet inside it staes not to take if you have epilepsy which my father does so why would the hospital give him this medication.what would be the best thing to do ?
dear anti epileptic drugs may cause constipation.if your father developed blackouts please discontinue to it. others causes for blackouts like epileptic seizures,fainting,low blood pressure psychogenic seizures,low blood sugarcertain medications,oxygen restriction etc.
use osmotic laxatives like surprise.duphalac 30ml at night .high fiber diet,eat green leafy vegetables. please consult your neurologist he will examine and treat you accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
