Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband s friend accidentally hit a dumbbell in his forehead and he was in concussion for a while . he has got a slight crack nearly 1 inch on forehead which seems a bit deep and is bleeding what shall we do is it something too much to wory about ?
Crack on the forehead means a contusion with an open wound. Most probably he needs to get it sutured as it is about 1 inch. Local anesthesia will be infiltrated around the wound and the gaping edges will be brought together and sutured.
Please do consult a surgeon so that he can assess the depth of wound and treat it. He may need a MRI brain if he has other symptoms like: 1) Severe headache 2) Vomiting 3) Dizziness 4) Difficulty in movements of legs and arms
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
