How To Treat Delayed Period And Vaginal Spotting When Diagnosed With Ovarian Cyst?
Hi, I am 42 and my period has been been irregular starting from 40. This year has really been erratic. Beginning of the year, my period comes about every 24-28 days. Then in March, it started lengthening and the latest is I am not having my period even after 45 days (today). I am sure I am not pregnant. But I am spotting a little bit. What should I do? I do have a 2 cm cyst on my left ovary.
Failure of ovulation can cause follicular cyst to retain within ovaries which forms a cyst. Normally such cysts get absorbed with time without causing any symptoms. Some large cysts may remain and cause irregular period, excess hair growth and infertility. Although there is no cure, there are many ways to decrease/ eliminate PCOS symptoms.
Hormonal pills are the common medication given. Treatments include birth control pills to regulate periods.Metformin is also given to prevent diabetes / insulin resistance.Hormonal pills can treat symptoms such as irregular periods, acne, excess hair, and elevated blood sugar.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
