Hi, I think I may be depressed. I am always sad even when something good happens, I often get the feeling like I am worthless or that I am helpless. I am always tired and don t want to do things that I used to love doing. I am always worrying about things that I shouldn t be. I don t remember the last time I was happy not because I don t want to be but because I can t be even if I wanted to be. I need to know how to fix it so I don t have to feel this way anymore.
Depression and tiredness can be due to some medical condition or ailment that has never been examined or diagnosed. Tiredness commonly occurs due to anxiety disorder, poor sleep hygiene, anemia or thyroid issues.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required blood and imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the clinical condition and reports of the pathology obtained. In the meantime, stay away from stress, eat healthy food, take adequate sleep, do regular exercises. For depression, you should consult a Psychiatrist.
You may need anti depressants and anti-anxiety medicines. Take iron and calcium rich food, take vitamin E rich food or supplements.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
