Management of
diabetic foot (ulcer) involves a multi-pronged approach.
It includes care of the wound- dressings, treating any infection, control of blood sugar, and investigation for peripheral arterial insufficiency (
arterial blood flow to the foot and leg).
Please do not delay going to a doctor- a general surgeon/specialist.
Also prevention of ulcers is a very important aspect- eg. daily foot inspection, gentle cleansing, prompt treatment of minor wounds etc.
Only after inspection of the wound/infection, is it possible to plan the treatment.
Do not worry, and see a specialist as soon as possible.
