How To Treat Dry, Flaky, Itchy Skin On The Outside Of Vagina?
I ve had dry flaky scaly skin on the outside of my left vagina lip where my pubic hair is for about a month now. It peels off and is itchy to the point where I scratch it until it becomes raw. It won t go away. Is there something I can do to get rid of it?
Dry, itching and scabbing skin on outside of your vagina can be due to use of irritating chemicals for hygiene or hair removal. Other causes may be skin infections or STD like chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, genital warts, trichomoniasis as well as yeast infection etc. If any outside cause is the reason of this dryness and itching, then it should be relieved by avoiding use of local irritating chemicals, applying petrolatum gel, coconut oil locally etc., some OTC anti itching like cetirizine etc., may relieve itching symptoms. If the symptoms are not relieved by these measures, then you are advised to consult your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
