Hi, I've had a dry skin patch on my upper lip for Atleast two months now . It cracks up when I apply make up and when I don't wear make up it feels rough. I've tried everything from aloe Vera plant to petroleum jelly, almond oil and emulsifying ointment it just won't go. Please help
I would keep a possibility of cheilitis. It could have possibly developed as a consequence of a mild allergic dermatitis to a make-up ingredient. In such a case, it would be advisable to not apply any make-up over it.
If I was your treating doctor I would have you to apply a topical moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone twice daily for a week or so, in case it is very dry and causing discomfort. This should make it fine within a week. Thereafter you can use a good lip balm to keep it well moisturized.
regards
