How To Treat Elevation Of BP Level And Heart Palpitations?

Hi.I m a 30 year old male and my BP is slightly elevated and has been for years 135 even 140/80 HR 58BPM,Im lean, fit excersise regularly. Frequently I suffer heart palpitations sometimes waking me from sleep. I ve been to the hospital twice with palpitations and skipping beats.. they do all the tests ECG, full panel bloods and can t find anything wrong. The heart palpitations don t worry me much as I ve had them for a couple of years now but never before. Usually they are worse after access alcohol (the next day) but I never get chest pain.I m starting to believe the reason for the heart palpitations is my elevated BP.Would it be a good idea to look at going on blood pressure tablets to give my heart a rest? I ve heard blood pressure tablets have some nasty side effects on the body?Cheers.Adam.
