How To Treat Excess Blockage Of Arteries In A Person With ADHD?

My husband just had an angiogram and was told his arteries were too blocked to stent. He was told to completely rest until surgery can be scheduled in a couple of days. What percentage of blockage would cause the cardiologist to tell him this. Also he is diagnosed with ADHD and it is very hard for him to sit still. How much danger is he in since he finds is hard to relax? He is 71.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The blockage may be more than 90% to be considered important for a possible heart attack. For this reason, it is important to avoid straining physical activity. I recommend trying to help him with activities like watching a film, playing chest, monopoly, etc. Walking inside the house for a short period of time is also considered a light activity.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
