How To Treat Facial Paralysis?

I have some face paralysis (my mouth and eye - left side). I can smile normally, but cannot whistle or hold air in my cheeks. Eating is difficult as well. My eye closes (sometimes not completely) but I cannot squeeze my left eye shut. I have had a stomach bug very recently and my facial problem has started at the same time. I am 27 and is in good health. I do have an underactive thyroid, which I take medication for.
