How To Treat Feeling Of Fullness In Throat?

I have had thyroid issues but noticed I was not sleeping and felt fulness in my throat. I went to my Dr office and she did a ultrasound but refused to do a tsh. I am more concerned with the levels and my thryroid swelling. there seems to be a big correlation with e/other but my ultrasound came back as multiple masses the tissue looks normal but i feel like someone is sitting on my neck. I want to know if there is a medication that can help these symptoms and why my practioner would not do a tsh level.

Hello,

Since you have history of thyroid problem and now have complains of thyroid swelling, you are suggested to visit ER & get thyroid function tests done. Since USG shows multiple masses get repeat imaging tests also done. Thyroid nodules are not harmful except a few. Only a small percentage are cancerous. Get clinically examined. Your treating doctor may tell you to get a biopsy of the tissue done. Get it done.

Swelling or mass in the throat can be due to other medical conditions like strep throat, dental infection, sinus issues, goiter or mumps. Your treatment will depend on the severity of the symptoms and pathology detected. Avoid stress and anxiety, gargle with warm salt water from time to time. You can take antacids or PPI's if you have acid reflux / GERD.
