How To Treat Fluctuations In Thyroid Levels Leading To Weight Gain?
Hi Our 24 year old daughter is having a very hard time losing weight & getting her Thyroid levels under control .Her levels are going up & down all the time & as hard as she s trying to lose weight it s not happening . Her gp said the only way to go now would be to have her thyroid removed . The endocrinologist we saw 18 months ago wouldn t remove it unless there was a threat of cancer , which there isn t .Is there a surgical option now as I ve heard that Drs don t like to remove them as it s such a high risk ? I really appreciate your concern, if it is just value of thyroid hormone fluctuating and no clinical symptoms are there then this is not the criteria to remove the thyroid gland, even with some clinical symptoms it can be managed with medicine alone, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
