Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Since it's already 3 years, there is no chance of spontaneous recovery. Unlike other tissues in our body, nerves regenerates little, and improvement if any, should occur within 6 months.

But no need to loose hope. Some symptomatic improvement can be expected with physiotherapy and ankle-foot orthosis, provided irreversible contracture of Achilles tendon has not occurred. Also there is a tendon transfer procedure that can help some patients. Kindly see an orthopedist for discussing the same.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
