How To Treat Hand Trauma?

2 weeks ago I took a flying lesson onto the sidewalk. I hurt my hand but ibuprofun really stopped the pain. 2 days later it swelled up, was stiff because of swelling. Day 5 the swelling decreased and bruising could be see. During all of this I could clench my fingers with no pain but couldnt lift anything with any weight. 2 weeks later I have bruising on my palm, and by my ring and small finger. Pain in the area when I lift anything heavy. I can use other fingers and thumb just fine. Today I noticed my ring finger knockle is missing. Or there us a dent where it used to be. I have read about a broken knuckle and immobilized from middle finger to little finger by taping them together. does this sound like a broken knuckle?

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM .
Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
IN the given situation, You seems to have suffered from-Hand edema with repeat Contusion.
As fingers and thumb were normal, a missing knuckle today is due to Hand edema-post repeat trauma and does not seem to be from Missing Knuckle.
Remedy
Check with Orthopedic Surgeon and check -X-ray of hand,knuckles- would fix the exact diagnosis.
According to the tissue trauma-needful treatment with supporting cast with anti-inflammatory medicines and if need be antibiotics would take care of the bruising / post traumatic hand edema in your case.

Work up on above lines suggested, would help in resolving the issues,in your specific case.
Many other causes accompanying, need to be ruled out in planning further care in your case.

Second opinion with attending GI- Surgeon would resolve your health .
issues in time to come.

Hope this would help you to plan further of this complex illness of yours.
