How To Treat Hard Red Patches On Face?

I have two large red patches on my face which keeps developing hard skin over it and I always need to peel the skin off because it is too hard and dry. Once I peel it off, the underneath becomes even more red. I need to make the skin peel off very easily and I do not know what can help speed up the process
