My daughter was bending over to get something and she came back up quick and knocked the base of her skull right above her neck hard on a shelf. She said she felt as though she blacked out for a second like she saw stars. Now her neck hurts and she has a headache. What should I do?

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
If your daughter had a transient loss of consciousness and a headache following a head injury, then she should get checked out in her nearest Emergency Department to be assessed formally in order to make sure she has not experienced any bruising to the brain. I hope this helps.
