Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 6 years old and about 24 hours ago she drank about 3 oz of childrens ibuprophen i called poison control and they said to keep her hydrated and she would be alright she has a sever headache can hold down some liquidsbut not much and is nw complaining that her legs hurt what can i do for her
The exact dose that she would normally take is 2 to 2 1/2 tsp depending on her weight and the strength of the particular ibuprofen that you have.
It is possible that she would be okay. The medication is not likely the cause of her pain since it is a pain relief medication. It may be associated with irritation of the stomach.
Using children's reflux medication if needed and keeping her hydrated as suggested should be fine.
I hope this helps
