Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a five year old. We were camping and swam in a lake yesterday. She woke up about 2:30 am with fever, screaming in pain with a headache. As long as she takes Tylenol or ibuprofen, the fever and headache go away but come back as soon. As it wears off. She also threw up late morning.
Fever, headache and vomiting usually suggests a viral fever. This will come down in 3-4 days. Just continue Tylenol / Ibuprofen for 3 days. Give Ondansetron for vomiting. Make her drink enough fluids and take some rest. Take her to doctor if fever continues beyond 3-4 days, sever headache or vomiting persists, new symptoms like loose stools or if she develops drowsiness or abnormal sleepiness.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
