How To Treat Hyperpigmentation On My Inner Thighs?

I am 26, male lean/thin, and have hyperpigmentation on my inner thighs from tinia cruris infection i had few years back. I have used TCA, glycolic peels, hydroquinone, tretioin, kojic, bit nothing has reduced it. Recently i heard that yag laser can be used for depigmenting skin by destroying melanin cells itself, and in a way cause hypopigmentation in these regions.

Can I do this. Please advice the type of laser, etc.

Hello,

I can understand your concern for hyper-pigmentation on the inner thighs. After analyzing your query I can get that you have the problem since a quiet long time.

In my view it appears to be "Post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation". It is a skin problem where the color giving cells are over active and are produce more color to the skin. The resulting situation is manifested as slightly increased pigmentation over the affected area.
I generally give a latest treatment with kojic acid, licorice extract, niacinamide and tranexamic acid and other latest ingredient in the treatment. Reduce your weight if on higher side as is the sole most important cause of the pigmentation. You can follow the same and can take further guidance from a dermatologist.
All the best.
