How To Treat Infection On Finger Leading To Pus Discharge While Suffering From MRSA?

My Pinky Finger was swollen from the last joint to the fingertip, hurt to bend, throbbed constantly, felt like a bee sting.I went to the Walk In and the doctor said it was Infected and cut and drained the area.I was prescribed the Antibiotic Bactrim, 10 days 2x per day. The results from the test showed MRSA Positive. There has been no drainage or puss sinse, the swelling has almost totally resolved, and it is pain free. But I m still curious because there is a small area around the end of my finger tip that feels hard like there is a little puss inside, but not very noticeable. Should I be worried about this or is it normal?I have two more pills to take then I will have taken all of the antibiotics prescribed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your doctor has given appropriate antibiotics for the MRSA infection. I suggest you complete the course and go for a follow up visit once you are done with medicines. Regarding the tissue you feel on the tip of your finger can be there due to the process of healing, likely dead tissue which should clear up on its own or it can be a scar formed. Although visual examination form your doctor is suggested.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
