Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just had to get blood taken, as requested to by my doctor for a test. I have given vials the last three weeks. As soon as the the needle entered my arm I experienced a sharp shooting pain (electric in nature) that literall moved down my arm to my thumb. It brought tears to my eyes and fortunately they only needed one vial of blood. Throughout the short procedure my thumb/palm was numb but painful. They gave me a hot compress which helped and I drove back to work but it still is uncomfortable from the elbow down and I feel a tad sick to my stomach (although I did eat after the test since it was a fasting test). It is very painful to use the arm or bump it but only from the elbow down.
