Name Nagesh, Male age 60. Undergone Bilateral TKR on May 11th 2015. Ever since the surgery not a single night slept peacefully. Insomnia is effecting severely. Is it common phenomena or abnormality. How can I overcome this Insomnia to have sound peaceful sleep as before ??
Are you deprived of sleep because of pain? Most of the people suffer from insomnia as the age progress? Follow the steps to get a sound sleep. Do not take nap in the day time particularly in the evening, physical activity may improve insomnia, don't take caffeine in the evening, drink less water in later half of the day and you may take a hot bath before going to bed. Analgesics may help, if you still feel the pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
