Hi, welcome to Health Magic. This is probably pinguecula which is a very common and a type of conjunctival degeneration. It can be uncomfortable, hence the main treatment is to use frequent application of lubricating eye drops. I alspo advice my patients to use some antihistamine eye drops as the allergy may cause more irritation. It rarely needs any treatment but can be removed or can be helped with steroid eye drops. Sometimes the infection itself can be infected and cause pain, hence its better to see an eye specialist.
