How To Treat Itchiness On Arm And Forehead With Rough And Flaky Skin?

I am a 23-year old virgin male. I am between 5 9 and 6 and weigh around 165-170 lbs. I am experiencing itchiness on my arms and forehead. I do have psoriasis, but the itching does not seem to be associated with psoriasis, as there s no flaky or rough skin. It s just a bit red.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

As you said you have psoriasis. You have itching on parts unaffected. I think, you may be having dryness..xerosis. And that would be the reason of itching. You have not mentioned what treatment you are taking for psoriasis. Methotraxate in low dose 15 mg per week might improve psoriasis. For dry skin, apply moisturiser like liquid paraffin. Avoid soap during bath. Take antihistaminics like levocetirizine to relieve itch. You may apply mild steroid cream on psoriatic and dry skin. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
