How To Treat Itching Sensation And Rashes Caused Due To Poison Ivy?

I have poison ivy rashes on my left ankle right hands fingers and right wrist to elbow. I m on climdamycin for abcess tooth. Ibuprofen for a painkiller and I m wondering if Benadryl because no matter the calamine lotion on it it s super itchy and it s unbareable.

Hi,

Benadryl is OK, but it can cause drowsiness. It is not a good choice if you have glaucoma, constipation, dry mouth or benign prostatic hypertrophy or use alcohol in excess. Newer drugs are preferable, like Zyrtec or Claritin.
